Dr. Bruce K. Bowen, DVMDr. Bruce Bowen, one of our Co-Chiefs of Staff, co-founded Royston Animal Hospital in 1983. He is from Anderson, SC and currently resides in Danielsville, GA. Dr. Bowen received an undergraduate degree from Clemson University and earned a DVM degree from the University of Georgia. His special interests include large animal, primarily bovine practice.

In his spare time, Dr. Bowen enjoys Clemson sports and caring for his variety of pets.

 

Dr. Wanda Thompson, DVM with a HorseDr. Wanda Thompson, one of our Co-Chiefs of Staff, grew up in Danielsville, GA and currently resides in Eastanollee, GA. She received an undergraduate degree from Berry College in Rome, GA, earned a DVM degree from the University of Georgia, and joined Royston Animal Hospital in 1991. Her special interests include large animal-equine, cattle, pigs, and small ruminants.

Outside of the practice, Dr. Thompson enjoys spending time with her family, horseback riding, hiking, and fishing. She cares for four horses, four dogs, three cats, and ten chickens at home.

Dr. Thompson served ten years in the Georgia Army National Guard as the logistics officer for a MASH unit and during this time she also went through paratrooper training.

Dr. Doris Cato, DVMDr. Doris Cato is one of our Co-Chiefs of Staff and another of our Royston Animal Hospital co-founders in 1983. She is from Powder Springs, GA and currently resides in Lavonia, GA. Dr. Cato received an undergraduate degree and earned a DVM degree from the University of Georgia. Her special interests include all aspects of small animal medicine.

Dr. Cato shares her home with two dogs and two cats. Away from work, she enjoys hiking with her husband and dogs, paddle boarding with the pups, gardening, traveling, and volunteering at her local animal shelter.

Dr. Cato is so thankful that she gets to practice in such a beautiful area with people that she loves and respects. We share the laughter and the tears that comes with this profession while striving to provide the best care we can for our patients. She is especially thankful that I have been able to share this adventure with her husband and best friend, Dr. Ken Cato!

Dr. Kenneth L. Cato, DVM Dr. Kenneth Cato is one of our Co-Chiefs of Staff and co-founders of Royston Animal Hospital in 1983. He grew up in Tucker, GA and currently resides in Lavonia, GA. Dr. Cato received an undergraduate degree and earned a DVM degree from the University of Georgia. His special interests include large animals.

Outside of the practice, Dr. Cato enjoys hiking, fishing, travel, and UGA football! He also has two dogs and two cats at home.

 

Dr. Laura Yetzina, DVMDr. Laura Yetzina grew up in Beaverdam Creek, GA and currently resides in Bowman, GA. She received an undergraduate degree from Warren Wilson College and earned a DVM degree from the University of Georgia.

When not at work, Dr. Yetzina loves spending time with her children, outdoor activities, and traveling. Her pets include dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, and cows.

Dr. Yetzina lives each day to the fullest as every day is a blessing.

Dr. Leslie Lord, DVM with a Goat Dr. Leslie Lord grew up in Sandersville, GA and currently resides in Danielsville, GA. She received an undergraduate degree and earned a DVM degree from the University of Georgia. Prior to joining the Royston Animal Hospital team, Dr. Lord practiced in Cumming and Rincon, GA. Her special interests include critical care, soft tissue surgery, and wildlife medicine.

In her spare time, Dr. Lord enjoys foraging and cooking. She also shares her home with many pets.

 

Dr. Whitney Chegwidden, DVM with a Dog Dr. Whitney Kiser Chegwidden grew up in Toccoa, GA and currently resides in Commerce, GA. She received an undergraduate degree and earned a DVM degree from the University of Georgia. Prior to joining the Royston Animal Hospital team in May 2015, Dr. Chegwidden practiced at Claxton Veterinary Clinic. Her special interests include mixed animal medicine and soft tissue surgery.

Outside of the practice, Dr. Chegwidden enjoys skiing on the lake, riding horses, riding 4-wheelers, and kayaking down the river. She also has two dogs and two cats at home.

Dr. Ashley Noellert, DVMDr. Ashley Noellert grew up in McLean, VA and currently lives in Royston, GA. She received an undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary and earned a DVM degree from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Noellert joined the Royston Animal Hospital team in June 2014. Her special interests include Internal medicine, herd health, and she enjoys the variety of mixed animal practice.

Dr. Noellert has two dogs and two cats at home and in her spare time she loves to travel and be outdoors. She is also trying to relearn Spanish after living in Peru for a couple years while in the Peace Corps.

Dr. Briana Grymonprez, DVM with a cat

Dr. Briana Grymonprez grew up in Port Byron, IL and currently resides in Hartwell, GA. She received an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and earned a DVM degree from the University of Illinois. Dr. Grymonprez joined the Royston Animal Hospital team in June 2017. Her special interests include feline medicine and geriatric pet medicine.

In her spare time, Dr. Grymonprez enjoys hiking, outdoors activities, traveling, line dancing, and antique furniture refurbishing. She also has one dog, an Australian Shepherd named, Sierra, and two cats named, Skeeter and Roxy.
